February 19, 2019

7:30 pm / 9:00 pm

INVITATION: MELBOURNE FOOD AND WINE FESTIVAL – EVENT UPDATE:
19 Feb, Jindivick Hall 7.30pm

Food + Wine Victoria, the creators of the Melbourne Food and Wine Festival, in conjunction with Baw Baw Shire Council are holding an information session on Tuesday 19 February to provide an update on the key operational activities that will be occurring during the Village Feast in Jindivick on Saturday 16th March.

Key topics will include:

MFWF presence in town
MFWF will have a greater presence in Jindivick over the coming month in the lead up to the event. MFWF will be on site for event bump in and bump out from Wednesday March 13th until Monday March 18th. We will make every effort to minimize any impact to your regular business during this time.

Street closure and associated traffic management

Food + Wine Victoria have engaged local traffic management company Traftech who will be onsite in the lead up and throughout the event to manage and minimise impact to parking, traffic, school bus and pedestrians on the Wednesday – Friday.

On the event day, the road will close to non-event vehicles from 7am and the diversion will take effect. Pedestrian access will be maintained to the Jindi Caf for purchase of essentials. Three carparks just outside the closure zone will be maintained for access to the Jindi Caf.   Jindi Caf will reopen for normal trading hours on Sunday . The full traffic management plan will be presented at the information session.

Services

Food and Wine Victoria have engaged suppliers to support with the provision of power, water, waste removal, temporary toilet facilities and security. We will go through these suppliers and more at the information session, but please be rest assured we will be minimizing impact to existing infrastructure in town and the site will be professionally cleaned post event.

Emergency services

Food and Wine Victoria’s Risk Management consultancy firm along with the local authorities will be onsite during the event, including first aid officers.

Volunteering

We want your support! Through Baw Baw Shire Council, MFWF will be calling out for volunteers to assist in bringing this event to life and showcasing the best of Jindivick. Further updates to follow.

Representatives from both the Melbourne Food and Wine Festival events team and the Shire will be  available to answer any questions you may have.

We look forward to seeing you there.
